Description

Experience authentic Japanese pottery in Kyoto with master Kiyomizu-yaki artisans. Learn the essential clay preparation process and create your own ceramic piece.
This pottery experience is led by a nationally certified Kiyomizu-yaki master artisan with over 20 years of professional experience. Guests learn from a true expert recognized among the top tier of traditional craftsmen in Japan.

Unlike many tourist workshops, participants begin with clay preparation (“tsuchikoroshi”), an essential step usually handled only by professionals. This allows for a deeper understanding of authentic pottery-making techniques.

The workshop is held in a quiet, clean hotel setting, creating a calm environment ideal for concentration. Instruction is personalized to each participant’s level, making the experience accessible even for beginners.
