Studio Shiki is the only place in Kyoto where you can experience tea ceremony dressed as a maiko or samurai!
Choose from maiko, samurai, or rental kimono.
3 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto
Rent a maiko, samurai or kimono (yukata) at Studio Shiki, then enjoy grinding matcha tea with a stone mill (tea ceremony experience) at Chanoyu Akebonotei, a 3-minute walk away.
Families can enjoy this experience with up to 4 people (ages 5 and up).
Near the shop, there are so many spots you can't see them all in one day, including shrines and temples such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Five-Story Pagoda, Yasaka Koshindo, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Kodaiji, and Yasaka Shrine, as well as tourist spots and stylish cafes.

- Due to the extreme heat, we offer a yukata plan from June 1st to September 15th.
- Change into a kimono and move to a location 3 minutes on foot

- Available for 1 to 6 people, children 5 years of age and older.

- Hair styling can be arranged at the reception on the day → 1,650 yen (tax included)
- No other drinks are included in the matcha experience
- There is a separate admission fee for those who do not participate in the tea ceremony experience.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
