Myoshinji (3.67 million square meters), the largest temple in Kyoto, has 46 temples. One of them, Jushoin, is a "hidden Zen temple," usually closed to the public. The chief priest, Nishida, who explains the Zen and the world of meditation to guests in English.
Jusho-in has a beautiful Japanese garden designed by Eitoku Kano, one of the most famous Japanese painter 400 years ago. The garden retains the same stones and trees as it was then. The tranquil atmosphere is ideal for concentrating on zazen.Zen and tea have a deep relationship. Since ancient times,monks and Samurai in training drink tea and meditate. At this tour, in a bit more casual atmosphere, you will first enjoy Sencha, followed by Maccha and Japanese sweets after meditation.
