Descripción
Explore southern Armenia on a 2-day private tour from Yerevan. Visit Noravank Monastery, ride the Wings of Tatev cable car, and explore the unique landscape of Khndzoresk.
Day 1: Yerevan to Goris
Begin your journey by leaving Yerevan in the morning and traveling through the Ararat Valley and into Vayots Dzor. Watch as fertile plains gradually give way to deeper valleys, red cliffs, and mountain scenery.
Make your first major stop at Noravank Monastery, dramatically set inside a narrow gorge of rust-colored rock. Explore the monastery with your guide and learn how its architecture, medieval history, and isolated setting reflect the character of this part of Armenia.
From Noravank, continue south toward Syunik. The changing landscape is part of the experience: long mountain roads, wide views, and increasingly remote scenery create the feeling of traveling far beyond Armenia’s familiar tourist routes.
Arrive in Goris in the late afternoon, with enough time to experience the town rather than simply use it as an overnight stop. Walk with your guide through selected streets and discover Goris’s distinctive stone houses, gardens, and quiet provincial atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy an included regional dinner and then have the rest of the evening at your own pace.
Day 2: Goris to Yerevan
Travel toward Tatev and cross the spectacular Vorotan Gorge on the Wings of Tatev cable car when it is operating. Suspended high above the canyon, the journey gives extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains before reaching Tatev Monastery. Explore this major medieval religious and educational center with your guide and discover why its remote position above the gorge has made it one of Armenia’s most memorable landmarks.
Continue to Khndzoresk, a striking landscape of cliffs, caves, and traces of a settlement where people lived among natural and man-made cave dwellings for generations. Explore the area with your guide and experience one of Southern Armenia’s most unusual cultural landscapes. The standard visit involves uneven terrain and may include stairs and a suspension bridge, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
After Khndzoresk, begin the private journey back to Yerevan, with planned comfort stops along the way. Arrival in Yerevan is expected in the evening.
Travelers receive a full refund if the cable car/core visit cannot operate or is replaced after booking.
