Note: This itinerary is unavailable during peak holidays, including Chinese New Year (Lunar Jan 1–7), May Day (May 1–5), and National Day (Oct 1–7).
This tour is designed for travelers arriving in Zhangjiajie in the morning or around noon. To ensure you enter Tianmen Mountain before the 4:00 PM cutoff, your private driver will meet you no later than 3:00 PM at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, Hehua Airport (DYG), or your hotel (located in downtown or near Wulingyuan East Gate).
Once inside, you can explore the mountain’s wonders independently. Challenge the 999 "Stairway to Heaven" to reach the iconic Tianmen Cave and stroll along cliff-hanging walkways for breathtaking views.
On clear days, you can enjoy a spectacular sunset. As darkness falls, a stunning light show transforms the mountain, illuminating the cave and cliffs in a mystical display.
For travelers on Option A, your private driver will provide a return transfer to your hotel after you descend the mountain.
Evening Experience (Option B):
For travelers who have booked Option B, your journey continues after descending with the "Tianmen Fox Fairy" show (starts at 8:20 PM). Running since 2009, this grand outdoor production features a massive cast of over 500 performers on a stage built directly into the natural canyon.
It tells the legendary tale of a forbidden love between a fox fairy and a local woodcutter. The performance brings local culture to life, blending soulful mountain folk songs and ancient ethnic rituals. English subtitles are provided for international travelers.
After the show concludes at 9:30 PM, your driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel.
