Skip the rolling boat decks and deep ocean drops with this beginner-friendly shore dive. If you want to experience the underwater world of Ishigaki without swimming experience or seasickness worries, this introductory shore dive allows you to step into the water straight from the beach.
Begin at the dive shop with an in-depth safety and equipment briefing. Your instructor explains how the regulator works, how to clear your mask, and the essential hand signals used beneath the surface, ensuring you feel completely secure before heading to the shoreline.
Once geared up at the beach, wade gently into waist-deep water where your feet firmly touch the sandy seabed. Take your first breaths underwater while standing up, allowing your body to acclimate comfortably with zero pressure. When you feel steady and confident, your instructor guides you down a gradual slope into deeper coastal waters.
Submerged in the clear subtropical sea, watch tropical fish dart around coral formations, discovering the weightless sensation of breathing beneath the surface. Because the entire dive operates directly from the coast, there is no rocking boat to upset your stomach.
After completing your dive, return directly to the dive center to change.

Weight: 35–80 kg (77–176 lbs)
Shoe size: 22–28 cm (EU 35–44)
Vision correction: Prescription masks/lenses are not available. Please wear soft contact lenses if needed
Safety regulations require at least 18 to 24 hours between diving and boarding an airplane
