Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Zhangjiajie city center. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle as you make your way to the park entrance.
Board the world's longest high-altitude passenger cable car and ascend 7.5 kilometers. As you rise, your guide will point out geological features and share the history carved into these limestone peaks over 200 million years.
Once at the summit, walk the Glass Skywalk (shoe covers included) and the Ghost Valley Plank Walk, suspended 1,400 meters above the valley. Visit Tianmen Mountain Temple, where a genuine Buddhist relic is enshrined.
For lunch, your guide can recommend authentic local restaurants serving the spicy, flavorful cuisine of western Hunan, or you may bring a packed lunch to enjoy at a scenic overlook.
In the afternoon, descend through the 12-stage mountain escalator to Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Gate). From the cave plaza, decide with your guide whether to walk the 999 Heavenly Stairs or take the escalator based on your energy and interests.
