With a history dating back to the Tang Dynasty, straw-weaving products were once offered as a tribute to the imperial court and were then exported to Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States in the early 20th century. Rather than merely an exquisite craft, Xuhang straw weaving has evolved into a living heritage that carries regional culture and historical memory over the centuries.
