After an early hotel pickup in Chengdu, you'll settle in for the coach ride into western Sichuan's mountains, stopping at Maobiliang Viewpoint for a first look at Mount Siguniang's four snow-capped peaks. From there, you'll enter Shuangqiaogou through the visitor center and board the scenic-area shuttle buswhich carries you deep into the valley to the redwood forest, a stretch of tall trees with the peaks rising behind them.

At Shuangqiaogou you'll enter through the visitor center and board the sightseeing bus straight to the redwood forest at the far end of the scenic area. From there the day unfolds downhill and at an easy pace. You'll walk through secluded redwood stands, cross the wide Potala Peak meadow, and reach Longzhucuo Lake, where still, clear water mirrors the ridgelines above. Further down you'll follow the Nianyuba River Valley Wetland and pass the Ginseng Fruit Meadow, with streams, grassland, and snow-dusted peaks stacking up around you. In summer, you can add on mountain rafting.

Once you've had your fill of the valley, the group gathers and drives back to Chengdu, returning you to the city the same day. With round-trip transport from your hotel and the in-park shuttle covering the long distances, you spend the day on the scenery instead of the logistics — and see the full length of the valley in one trip.
