Zhuangyuan Bridge was built by Chen Lansen, the grandson of Chen Hongmou, a famous minister in the Qing Dynasty, in order to obtain the daughter of Zhu Ruodong, a descendant of the Jingjiang King of Tianxin Village.

it was the only ancient bridge from Hengshan Village to Tianxin Village in ancient times. Because Chen Hongmou's great grandson, San Yuan, and top scholar Chen Jichang often passed through this bridge, later generations named it Zhuangyuan Bridge.
