Guangzhou: Ziyun Valley Trekking Day Trip with Ferry Ride

Discover the beauty of Ziyun Valley on a guided day trip from Guangzhou. Trek through lush forests, swim in crystal-clear mountain streams, and cross the Xijiang River on a scenic ferry ride.
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Guangzhou to Zhaoqing. Arrive at the Xijiang River ferry pier and board the ferry for a short ride across the river.

Enter the Ziyun Valley Scenic Area and enjoy lunch before starting your trek. Walk along the shaded waterside trail, surrounded by dense vegetation and the sound of babbling brooks.

Continue upstream through a series of stacked pools, jagged rocks, and scattered waterfalls. Cross natural pools and waterfall clusters along the way. If you’d like to swim, bring your swimsuit and take a dip in the cool, refreshing mountain spring water.

Near the latter half of the trail, the stream widens and the current slows, creating natural swimming holes with water so clear you can see the bottom. Step into the cool, ankle-deep springs and feel the fatigue of the hike melt away. Rest areas with stone benches are available nearby — the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the water.

After your trek, gather at the pier and take the ferry back across the Xijiang River. Board the bus and begin the return journey, carrying the coolness of the valley with you.
