Itinerary – Daily Schedule

09:30 – Pick-up from your hotel in Zhangjiajie city center or Wulingyuan area. Private vehicle with your driver-guide. Start time is flexible – let us know your preference upon booking. As you will visit two sites in one day, we recommend departing by 10:00 at the latest to allow sufficient time at both attractions.

09:50 – Arrive at Yellow Dragon Cave parking lot. Walk to the cave entrance.

10:00 – Enter the cave. Walk to the underground river dock.

10:15 – Board the boat. Cruise along the Xiangshui River, an 800-meter subterranean waterway. View stalactites and stalagmites on both sides of the river.

10:35 – Disembark and walk into the Dragon Palace Hall, the cave's largest chamber.

10:45 – Explore the cave on foot. Visit the main sights: Dragon King's Throne, Golden Spear & Silver Lance, Flower-Fruit Mountain, Fairy Bridge, and Pearl Waterfall.

11:15 – Arrive at the highlight: The Dragon's Pillar – a 19.2-meter-tall stalagmite, the cave's most iconic formation.

11:45 – Continue walking toward the exit.

12:10 – Walk out of the cave.

12:20 – Return to the parking lot. Your driver-guide is waiting. Transfer to Baofeng Lake (approx. 15-minute drive).

12:35 – Arrive at Baofeng Lake. Take the scenic shuttle bus up the mountain to the lakeside dock (approx. 10 minutes).

12:45 – Board the boat. Cruise around Baofeng Lake – full loop, approx. 40 minutes. Sights along the way: Lake Island, Peacock Spreading Tail Peak, Golden Toad Holding the Moon, Mandarin Duck Bay, Fairy Mirror. Tujia folk singers perform on board during the cruise.

13:25 – Disembark. Walk to Baofeng Waterfall viewing platform. View the waterfall.

13:35 – Walk along the lakeside boardwalk back to the dock.

13:50 – Take the shuttle bus down to the main entrance.

14:00 – Return to the parking lot. Your driver-guide is waiting. You can choose to:

Head back to your hotel directly, or

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant near the scenic area (at your own expense, approx. 40–60 minutes)

14:10 – Stop for lunch (if you choose to).

15:00 – Continue transfer back to your hotel.

15:20 – Drop-off at your hotel or Wulingyuan Gate. Tour ends.

⏰ Morning schedule shown above. You can also choose a later start – just let us know. Please ensure you arrive at both attractions before 14:00. For the combined tour, we recommend departing no later than 10:00 for a morning start, or 11:00 at the absolute latest.
