Shanghai: Zhujiajiao Ancient Town Tour

Explore the picturesque Zhujiajiao Ancient Town and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Shanghai. Our guide will meet you at a designated area (if you are outside the designated zone, please contact us to arrange an alternative itinerary) and accompany you by coach or subway to the destination. We will head to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, one of the best-preserved ancient towns in Shanghai.
In Zhujiajiao, you’ll experience the beautiful scenery of a water town, explore the historical charm and cultural atmosphere of Jiangnan, and take a boat ride to enjoy the picturesque waterways. You will also see various distinctive architectural sites, including:
Fangsheng Bridge – the largest five-arched stone bridge in Shanghai, built in the Ming Dynasty, and a landmark of the ancient town.
Kezhi Garden – a private garden combining Chinese and Western styles, established in 1912.
Yuanjin Zen Temple – a temple dating back to the Yuan Dynasty, with the Qinghua Pavilion housing Ming Dynasty paintings and calligraphy; climb up to enjoy a panoramic view of the town.
Daqing Post Office – the only existing post office from the Qing Dynasty in East China, built in 1903, where you can send vintage-style postcards.
In addition, you can sample local snacks such as spicy tofu, zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), candied fruit on sticks, and assorted pastries. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, featuring specialties like wontons or scallion oil noodles.
At the end of the tour, men will receive a folding fan and women a round fan as souvenirs. Finally, we will escort you back to your hotel in Shanghai, leaving you relaxed and refreshed after your journey.
