Begin your day trip with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Quito. Head north to the city of Cayambe, known for its "bizcochos," a line of baked buns that are accompanied by the so-called "queso de hoja" because it is wrapped in sheets to preserve.
Continue your trip until you reach the Otavalo Market, where you can see all kinds of handicrafts made by the skilled hands of the indigenous people of the area. Next, stop in the town of Peguche and walk to its waterfall, a place full of energy where the natives perform spiritual rituals.
