Descripción

Ride in a cable car, visit churches, see El Panecillo, and the next day, lose yourself in the cloud forest of Mindo among hummingbirds, butterflies, and waterfalls. Two days, two worlds, with a Spanish/English-speaking guide and private transportation.
Two days to discover the soul of Ecuador: the faith and art of Quito, and the vibrant life of the cloud forest.
DAY 1. Colonial Quito and the Middle of the World
Departure 8:30am.
El Panecillo: The Winged Virgin of Quito, standing about 41 meters tall, is made of thousands of aluminum pieces and is the only Virgin Mary in the world depicted with wings.
Plaza San Francisco: The first convent in South America, its atrium is the heart of colonial Quito.
La Compañía Church, the "golden church". Its interior is covered in gold leaf, with a Baroque style that seems to melt into the walls. It took almost 160 years to complete.
Plaza Grande: The center of power for centuries, this is where you'll find the Carondelet Palace, the Cathedral, and the Archbishop's Palace, with the entire city passing by in front of you.
You can try the famous canelazo and typical snacks of the region or have lunch here.
Basilica del Voto Nacional: Neo-Gothic and monumental, the gargoyles are iguanas, turtles, and armadillos, not demons.
Cable Car: It climbs to about 4,000 m, at the foot of Mount Pichincha. From above, you can see the entire city stretching out between the mountains.
Intiñan Museum: It invites you to play with physics on the equatorial line, with water and balance experiments, a fun break after so much history.
Mitad del Mundo: The landmark commemorating the 18th-century French geodetic mission.
Drop-off at your hotel.

DAY 2. Mindo, cloud forest, birds, and adventure.
Departure 7:00 AM
San Tadeo Birding: The first stop is very close to the town of Mindo, where you can have the experience of feeding hummingbirds from the palm of your hand and watching them feed at feeders. There's free coffee or tea for you here.
Nambillo Waterfall: A hike through dense vegetation to the waterfall in the middle of the forest, with the return trip by Tarabita (baskets suspended from a metal cable in the air, similar to a cable car).
Canopy (zipline): An adrenaline rush as you fly like a bird over the treetops of the cloud forest on 2, 3, 6, or 10 ziplines – the choice is yours.
Lunch: Time to enjoy local food or delicious dishes.
Butterfly house: An up-close experience with colorful wings, from the tiniest to the largest butterflies, and the entire process from egg to caterpillar to flight.
Tubing: An exciting and refreshing experience in the crystal-clear waters of the region's rivers. (This activity is perfect for lovers of nature and water-based adventure.) Note: Wear comfortable clothes to get wet and bring a change of clothes.
Yumbo Chocolate: From cocoa to chocolate bar, you'll learn how the Yumbo culture already knew about this fruit before modern chocolate existed, with a cup of hot chocolate or a tasting of the variety of chocolate flavors.
Drop-off at your hotel.
