Quito: Cotopaxi & Quilotoa 2-Day Tour with Accommodation

2-day adventure. Visit Cotopaxi National Park, hike to José Rivas Refuge (4,800 m), and discover the magical Quilotoa Lagoon with accommodation, meals, and activities included. All inclusive.
Day 1 | Quito – Cotopaxi – Quilotoa

We will begin the experience with pickup from your hotel in Quito, heading south of the city.

Our first stop will be at the La Forestal Viewpoint, a strategic spot offering panoramic views of Quito and the surrounding valleys. We will then continue to the Santa Rita community, where we will learn about Andean rural life and local traditions.

Next, we will enter Cotopaxi National Park, one of Ecuador’s most iconic natural areas. We will hike up to the José Rivas Refuge (4,864 m / 15,958 ft), located on the slopes of Cotopaxi Volcano, offering impressive volcanic landscapes.

We will continue with a visit to Limpiopungo Lagoon, a high-Andean wetland surrounded by wildlife and spectacular views of the volcano, followed by the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center, where we will learn about the park’s geography, flora, and fauna.

We will then enjoy an included lunch, allowing time to recharge before continuing the journey.

In the afternoon, we will travel through the Toachi Canyon, a natural formation carved by the river, and explore the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve, known for its páramo landscapes and ecological transition zones.

At the end of the day, we will arrive at the majestic Quilotoa Lagoon, a volcanic crater lake with striking turquoise waters.
Dinner included and overnight stay in Quilotoa.

Day 2 | Quilotoa – Return to Quito

After the included breakfast, we will descend to Quilotoa Lagoon, where you will have time to admire this breathtaking natural setting.

You will have the opportunity to enjoy kayaking or rowing canoeing on the lagoon (optional activity included), a unique experience surrounded by volcanic mountains.

We will then enjoy an included lunch in the area.

We will begin the return journey to Quito, stopping along the way for a tasting of traditional Salcedo ice cream, famous for its artisanal flavors.

Arrival in Quito, drop-off at your hotel, and end of services.
