Paddle along the upper stretch of Buffalo Bayou on a guided kayaking tour. Learn about the river's geology and the impact of Hurricane Harvey as you paddle from Highway 6 to I-610W.
Start with a safety briefing and on-land instruction before you set out on the water. Paddle along the narrow, open, and peaceful water trail with a few rapids and several sandy shores great for a break.
See a mix of gently sloping to steep sandy banks, flat flood plains, and tree-lined ridges with mature trees. Stop to look at riverbanks morphology, channel shape and dimensions, analyze bedrock and geomorphologic features associated with stream and floods.
