Day 1: Addis Ababa – Fly to Dallol, Erta Ale & Gheralta
After an early morning departure from Addis Ababa by light aircraft, you will fly north toward the Afar Depression — one of the most extreme and fascinating landscapes on Earth.
Upon arrival, explore Dallol, the lowest point in Africa and one of the hottest places on the planet. Walk through its surreal mineral formations, colorful salt flats, sulfur pools, and otherworldly geothermal features that look like a natural painting.
Continue to Erta Ale Volcano, home to one of the world’s few permanent lava lakes. Witness the glowing molten lava and feel the raw power of the Earth beneath your feet — an unforgettable geological experience.
Later, fly onward to the Gheralta Mountains in Tigray, known for their dramatic sandstone cliffs, ancient rock-hewn churches, and stunning sunset views. Enjoy a short walk or cultural visit before settling in for the night.

Day 2: Fly to Simien Mountains National Park
After breakfast, fly west toward the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most impressive mountain landscapes.
Upon arrival, enjoy scenic walks along the dramatic escarpments, deep valleys, and high plateaus. This region is home to endemic wildlife such as the Gelada baboon, Walia ibex, and Ethiopian wolf.
Take in panoramic viewpoints overlooking some of the deepest gorges in the world, with towering cliffs and endless horizons — a true “Roof of Africa” experience.

Day 3: Fly to Lalibela – Rock-Hewn Churches – Return
This morning you will fly south to Lalibela, one of Ethiopia’s most sacred and historically important sites.
Explore the famous Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, a 12th-century masterpiece carved entirely out of solid rock and still actively used for worship today. Walk through the interconnected tunnels and courtyards as your guide explains the spiritual, architectural, and historical significance of each church.
After the visit, you will fly back to Addis Ababa, concluding your unforgettable aircraft safari.
