The Écomusée's collections of models, objects, films and archival photos take you on a journey through the astonishing history of this town, which was built twice in the space of a century. You'll gain an understanding of the unique human story of Saint-Nazaire, a city that bears witness to the 20th century. And for families, workshops are held throughout the year.

Situated on the banks of the Loire Estuary, the Écomusée recounts the unique history of Saint-Nazaire, its harbor, and its major industries. Documents and collectibles tell the story of this city open to the world, where nearly 170 ocean liners were built. Large-scale models, paintings, posters, photographs and technical objects (lighthouse lens, foghorn, shipbuilding tools) illustrate the various facets of Saint-Nazaire's history.
