Aix-en-Provence: Night Hike in the Provençal Hills

Sunset hike, friendly aperitif at the summit, and, if the calendar coincides, observation of the full moon with observation glasses. Night descent with headlamps.
On the program

A safe hike starting from the Col Sainte-Anne parking lot in Mimet in the late afternoon to reach the summit of the Chaîne de l'Étoile: the Tête du Grand Puech.
Aperitif tasting with/without alcohol on the ridges at sunset with a view of the Mediterranean.
If the calendar coincides: the rising of the full moon during the aperitif and observation of the full moon with a telescope.
Nighttime drop-off by the light of the moon and headlamps.

Hike level: Level 2/5

Easy route suitable for occasional hikers.
Climb along a wide, gently sloping track.
Short passage along a ridge trail that will require more vigilance at night. The rest will be on comfortable trails.
Kid-friendly hike if they are comfortable with walking.

Distance: 7.5 km / Total walking time: 2 hours 30 minutes / Elevation gain: 290 m + and - / Departure: Col Ste Anne parking lot – Mimet

Your gear to bring:

A hiking backpack for the evening (20-30L)

At least 1 liter of water per person

Mountain shoes with lugged soles or, if not available, a pair of sports shoes

Clothing suitable for walking (lightweight and breathable)

A light waterproof/windproof jacket (Gore-Tex or K-Way type)

Something to cover yourself with for the night

A charged headlamp with red light if possible

Walking sticks, highly recommended

Binoculars to observe the moon if you have them

Your medical treatment if you have any.

The route may be changed depending on weather conditions or the participants' level of physical fitness. Ultimately, the tour leader remains the sole judge of the program, which they can adapt according to various requirements.
