Especially if it's your first visit to this region, you won't want to miss driving along the famed Corniche roads that link Nice to the medieval village of Eze and the Principality of Monaco.
As a resident of Nice and nature enthusiast, I know many secret spots between Nice and Monaco which can be reached by small roads more frequented by cyclists and hikers than by cars. We may visit a 19th-century fort, and picnic with a sweeping view over Eze Village and the sea. If you wish to end the tour with a swim, I can take you to one of the quieter beaches frequented by locals, whether in Nice, Villefranche or St Jean Cap Ferrat.We will start in Nice, where I will show you the must-see highlights - including the 17th-century Old Town and colorful Cours Saleya food market - before taking you to a natural park, undiscovered by tourists, that offers spectacular views of Nice, Villefranche and Cap Ferrat.
We will drive to the perched medieval village of Eze, stopping along the way to snap some photos. In Eze, you can wander the cobbled streets lined with artisans' boutiques, and visit the Exotic Garden, where you can learn more about the tropical vegetation while taking in the breathtaking views.
In Monte Carlo, once you have seen the Castle and the Casino and perhaps indulged in some people-watching at the Café de Paris, we can taste local specialties such as pichade or barbajuan, and drive the Formula One circuit.
There are many restaurants to choose from along this stretch of coast, but for me nothing beats a picnic from a secluded vantage point overlooking the village of Eze, with the sea glittering below.
