Experience the autumn crane migration on Rügen on a 4.5-hour boat tour from Schaprode. Watch the "birds of happiness" on their way to their evening resting places.
Experience one of the most impressive natural spectacles of autumn on Rügen and accompany the majestic cranes on their way to their evening resting places.
Your approximately 4.5-hour boat tour departs from the harbor in Schaprode on Rügen. On board the passenger ship "Gellen", you will head out into the Bodden landscape of Western Pomerania. After about 1.5 hours, you will reach the observation area, or the cranes' flight path.
With a bit of luck, you can watch the so-called "birds of happiness" fly over the landscape in impressive formations – sometimes even directly over the ship.
A crane expert from Discover Rügen will accompany you during the trip. Learn about the lives of common cranes, their migratory behavior, their way of life, and the special characteristics of these fascinating animals.
For an even better view of the cranes, binoculars can be rented on board while supplies last.
After the crane watching, the ship will head back to Schaprode. With live music and food and drinks available on board, you can enjoy the special atmosphere of the evening and reflect on the impressions of the tour.
After about 4.5 hours, you will return to the harbor of Schaprode.
