Ananuri, Gudauri, and Kazbegi Day Trip

Discover the beauty of Georgia on a day trip from Tbilisi. Visit Ananuri Fortress, Gudauri, and Kazbegi, and explore the Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbek in the background.
Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point in Tbilisi. Drive north along the Georgian Military Highway, one of the most scenic routes in Georgia, flanked by mountains and rivers.

Stop at the Ananuri Fortress Complex, a 16th–17th century castle on the Aragvi River. See the confluence of the two Aragvi rivers, a stunning natural spot where the rivers meet below the fortress. Admire the old churches with intricate carvings, towers, and views of the Zhinvali Reservoir.

Continue to Gudauri, a ski resort town located on the south-facing plateau of the Greater Caucasus. Enjoy panoramic views of the mountains, fresh air, and maybe a short coffee/snack stop at a local café.

Continue along the Georgian Military Highway, with stunning alpine landscapes. Visit Gergeti Trinity Church, perched on a hill with Mount Kazbek in the background. Hike uphill to the church if you wish.

Visit Stepantsminda village, see local life, small souvenir shops, and rivers. Finally, drive back south along the Georgian Military Highway and get dropped off at your hotel or chosen location in Tbilisi.
