Hike to the Gergeti Trinity Church on a day trip from Tbilisi. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Georgian Military Highway, stop at Zhinvali Water Reservoir, and savor a homemade Georgian lunch.
Begin your journey with a scenic drive along the Georgian Military Highway. Make your first stop at the spectacular Zhinvali Water Reservoir, where you will have time to take photos and use the restroom.
Continue directly to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), where you will have approximately 15 minutes of free time to visit a shop, buy snacks, or use the bathroom before the hiking experience begins.
From Stepantsminda, a minibus will take you to the starting point of the hike. The trail includes approximately 500 meters of elevation gain and takes you through beautiful forest paths with panoramic mountain scenery. The hike leads to the famous Gergeti Trinity Church, one of Georgia’s most iconic landmarks, located beneath the majestic Mount Kazbek.
After the hike, enjoy a well-deserved homemade lunch in a local family house, featuring traditional Georgian Khinkali, prepared with authentic local flavors.
On the way back to Tbilisi, make one final stop in Mleta, where you can visit a local honey shop and use the restroom.
