Explore Baduy Village, home to the Baduy tribe, or Urang Kanekes, a community that firmly upholds local wisdom. Its population is approximately 26,000, and it is divided into two regions: Outer Baduy and Inner Baduy. The border between the two regions is marked by a bamboo hut where the Inner Baduy stay while they farm.
The Baduy tribe adheres strictly to their customs, but they are not isolated or isolated from the outside world. There are several taboos for them. One of these is taking photographs, especially in the Inner Baduy region. Visitors are only allowed to describe the atmosphere within the area with sketches.
Today, Baduy Village is frequently visited by both domestic and international tourists. There are several rules that must be followed when visiting Baduy. These rules differ for Outer Baduy, Inner Baduy, and the border between the two.
Inner Baduy consists of three villages: Cikeusik, Cikertawarna, and Cibeo. Cibeo is more welcoming to visitors. However, visitors are still prohibited from taking photographs and are prohibited from using soap, shampoo, toothpaste, or other chemicals when bathing, as they are feared to damage the environment. Cikeusik, on the other hand, is very beautiful and pristine, but rarely visited.
