Climb Mount Merbabu in a single push with a private guide. Reach the summit at dawn to witness the "Seven-Peak Sunrise" and enjoy a safe, guided trek through the night.
Begin your adventure with a late-night pickup from your hotel. Travel to the basecamp in Suwanting Village, where you’ll meet your local guide for a quick briefing and a hot drink.
Start your climb shortly after midnight, using headlamps to light the way. Walk for several hours through the dark forest, climbing steadily. Avoid the hot sun and get the best chance for a clear sunrise view. Your guide will set a good, safe pace and make sure you take breaks when you need them.
Tackle the final section, climbing up volcanic rock to the peak. Arrive at Puncak Kenteng Songo (3,145m) just before dawn. Witness the famous "Seven-Peak Sunrise," as the sun rises over a sea of clouds, lighting up the active Mount Merapi and six other volcanoes.
Take plenty of time at the summit for photos and to feel the amazing sense of victory. After sunrise, begin the walk down the mountain. Enjoy the green views you missed in the dark. Once back at the basecamp, rest for a while before your private car takes you back to your hotel.
