As the boat slowly leaves the wooden dock, the island of Gili Trawangan begins to fade into the background. From the water, see the island’s palm trees, beachside cafes, and rows of bicycles that line the sandy roads. Since motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island, the peaceful atmosphere is noticeable even from the boat.

Once the boat gains speed, the wind becomes stronger and the salty sea breeze refreshes everyone on board. The water around the boat is incredibly clear, showing shades of turquoise and deep blue.
