Tokyo: Gameboy Advance Mod Workshop by +Y

Welcome to +Y. We started this workshop in 2024 with the goal of sharing our passion for Retro Gaming. Join us for an in-depth Gameboy Advance modding session. We promise it will be fun :)
Transform a classic Game Boy into a unique masterpiece at our immersive workshop in Tokyo, hosted by passionate local enthusiasts. Discover the history and technology behind this iconic handheld console, and ask our knowledgeable expert anything you've ever wanted to know. Unleash your creativity as you customize your very own Game Boy with unique designs, guided by our skilled and entertaining multilingual assistants. Leave with a fully functioning Game Boy that's uniquely yours, a reminder of your fun times in Japan.

The workshop starts with a brief introduction into the history of the Gameboy Advance, and other retro gaming consoles.

You will be able to play on our retro game collection as we introduce them.

You will then choose the color combinations of the buttons, case, screen cover. We have a wide range of parts to choose from and unlimited combinations. You can also ask the staff for inspiration because we have seen many combinations.

After choosing the colors, you will take apart your Gameboy Advance and clean the motherboard.

You will then solder to add a lightning module and a new LCD screen.

You will then reassemble the Gameboy and test it out with some games.



We won't spoil it for you with specifics but it will be fun and safe;)
