Your day begins in Kyoto, the former imperial capital. Visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its wooden stage and sweeping views over the city. Stroll along the surrounding historic streets, where traditional shops and teahouses evoke the atmosphere of centuries past.
Next, continue to the charming Gion district, Kyoto’s most famous geisha area.
