Descripción
Explore the iconic Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul) in Coyoacán and discover its history from a deeper perspective. Before entering the museum, enjoy an introduction over specialty coffee from Oaxaca.
Discover Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul from a deeper and more personal perspective. Before entering the museum, your experience begins with an introduction over specialty coffee from Oaxaca, located just one block from the house, where you’ll learn about the historical, artistic, and emotional context behind Frida Kahlo’s life. This first part is designed to help you better understand what you will see inside the museum and connect with Frida’s work before the visit begins.
Casa Azul, originally built in 1904 by the Kahlo family, was the place where Frida was born and where she also spent the final days of her life. Throughout the experience, you will discover how this house became a refuge, a studio, and the setting for some of the most important moments of her personal and artistic journey. Accompanied by a specialist on the subject, you will explore the interiors of the museum while understanding the relationship between her life, physical pain, and creative process.
Due to museum regulations, very few people are truly able to provide in-depth guidance inside the museum itself, which is why this experience is carefully designed to complement the visit with historical, visual, and artistic context before entering. During the coffee introduction, you will also review some of Frida’s most important paintings to better understand the symbols, colors, and emotions reflected throughout the house.
Inside the museum, you will encounter spaces dedicated to Frida’s self-discovery and introspection, where her artwork reveals vulnerability, honesty, and transformation following multiple surgeries and health struggles. You will also discover how Casa Azul became “a window to the world,” a place where Frida imagined, created, and developed her artistic identity while engaging with Mexico’s cultural and political life.
This experience combines history, art, architecture, and storytelling so you don’t just visit a museum—you truly understand Frida Kahlo’s world.
