Begin your day with a morning pickup from your Ulaanbaatar hotel. First, visit the legendary Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, where you can climb to the horse's head for sweeping steppe views.
Next, drive into Terelj National Park to the peaceful Aryabal Meditation Center, a hillside temple with 108 steps symbolizing Buddhist purification. A short drive brings you to Turtle Rock for a quick photo stop.
After sightseeing, begin the return drive. En route, stop at a base camp that offers both activities. First, enjoy a horse ride across the open steppe, a traditional Mongolian experience.
Then, switch to a UTV for an 8 km ride through dirt trails and forest scenery. The UTV ride takes 20–40 minutes depending on how fast you go. Unlike an ATV, the UTV seats 2 people side‑by‑side, making it more stable and comfortable.
Having both activities at the same location saves driving time and lets you maximize your adventure. You'll be back at your hotel by evening, having experienced both ancient and modern ways to explore the Mongolian landscape.
