Before attending, your local host explains the wedding, the family, and what to expect, as Nepali weddings can vary considerably by community, caste, ethnicity, and family tradition.

Arrive at the wedding as an invited guest and experience the atmosphere of a genuine Kathmandu wedding, complete with family members, music, traditional rituals, photographs, laughter, and plenty of dancing. Respectfully participate in appropriate parts of the celebration rather than simply standing on the sidelines.

A local guide explains what's happening as the wedding progresses. Depending on the wedding, see traditions such as welcoming rituals, traditional blessings, wedding ceremonies, family introductions, music and dancing, exchange of garlands, or other customary rituals and post-ceremony celebrations.

Join the family and guests on the dance floor, learning a few simple moves from your host or guide. Once the formal wedding rituals are complete, enjoy the reception and a traditional buffet dinner.
