You will visit the estate Clingendael with its beautiful landscape and gardens, and possibly the Japanese garden, which is open for a few weeks in spring and autumn.
Clingendael Park
Clingendael is an estate on the border of Wassenaar and The Hague. Its history dates back to 1544, when there was a farm in the valley between the inner dunes (Clinge). From the late 16th century, the site was developed by the Doublet and Van Brienen families into a prominent country residence. During the Second World War, the German Reich Commissioner Seyss-Inquart stayed in the country house.
During the walk, the guide will tell the special stories about the estate, the buildings, residents and gardens. Of course, the unique Japanese garden, which was laid out at the beginning of the 20th century by Baroness van Brienen, alias Freule Daisy, is not missing when it is open.

This is a tour through the park with an emphasis on World War II (only 25/04/'26).
