Entebbe: UWEC Behind-the-Scenes Tour & Lake Victoria Cruise

Go behind the scenes at the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center in Entebbe. Help feed animals, assist with health check-ups, and cruise on Lake Victoria to the equator line.
Begin your tour with a pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Head to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center (UWEC) in Entebbe for an educational, practical, and highly interactive tour.

With the guidance of resident animal keepers, engage in activities such as preparing specialized animal diets, feeding animals, assisting keepers with routine animal health check-ups, and moving them into their night holding facilities. Stand face-to-face with animals like giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, and many more, as well as bird species like the prehistoric shoebill stork.

Take a break for lunch along the shores of Lake Victoria before jumping on a boat for a cruise to the equator line. The cruise will take you to Lwaji Island as you spot numerous wildlife species like monitor lizards and birds, including pelicans and kingfishers.

Have enough time for photography at the equator monument, watch the sunset, and enjoy the lake’s beautiful scenery before returning to the landing site for your drive back to your hotel or place of residence around Kampala or Entebbe.
