Cusco: Trek to Humantay Lagoon - Salkantay 2Days

Humantay Lagoon, with its crystal-clear and beautiful waters, lies at the foot of the Salkantay mountain, which, together with the Humantay peak, forms the lagoon. Reaching the lagoon is a strenuous hike, but you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. This lagoon is considered a gift from Pachamama (Mother Earth), as its waters are vital for the surrounding fields. Day 1: Cusco - Humantay - Quiswarniyoc Camp. We begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel and departing Cusco very early in the morning for the town of Mollepata. We have breakfast in Mollepata and then head to Soraypampa to begin an uphill hike to Humantay Lagoon (luggage will be carried by the muleteers and horses located there). We will explore the lagoon with the guide. We will then descend to the private Soraypampa camp for lunch. An optional hike to the Salkantay viewpoint is available to enjoy the panoramic views. Day 2: Soraypampa Camp - Salkantay - Cusco. We prepare for a challenging hike to the top of the Salkantay Trail. We'll wake up very early for breakfast and to pack. We begin our uphill trek to Salkantay, enjoying the mountain views and the Apus ritual. We hike back to Soraypampa, locate our transport, and return to Mollepata for lunch. Our tour concludes with the return to the city of Cusco.
