Manu 2 Days: Jungle Adventure and Wildlife Watching

Explore Manu in 2 days and 1 night: Venture into the jungle, discover its incredible biodiversity, observe wildlife, and enjoy an unforgettable experience in its natural habitat.
CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST – PAUCARTAMBO – PILCOPATA
To begin the 2-day tour in Manu, we'll pick you up
from your hotel early in the morning, between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., in our comfortable private coach. During the journey, we'll explore the impressive Funerary Towers, or Chullpas, of Ninamarca, located at 3,750 meters above sea level, and we'll make a brief stop in Paucartambo, a charming folkloric town with a colonial bridge.
Afterwards, we'll head to the high part of Paucartambo, specifically to the Acjanaco area, located 4,000 meters above sea level. This point marks the entrance to Manu National Park.
We will descend through the mysterious cloud forest, home to an incredible diversity of wild flora and fauna, including beautiful orchids, heliconias, and primitive ferns. During a hike, you'll have the chance to witness the fascinating mating ritual of the Peruvian Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruviana). There is also a chance of spotting birds such as trogons (Trogon sp.), quetzals (Pharomachrus sp), and, if we're lucky, even the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus).
In the afternoon, we will arrive in the picturesque village of Pilcopata, located 550 meters above sea level, where our cozy traditional lodge is located. This lodge, away from the village, has private bathrooms and showers for your comfort.
DAY 2: PILCOPATA – ATALAYA – MACHUWASI – LODGE – PAITITI
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we'll continue our journey by bus to Atalaya, a 45-minute ride that will take us to an altitude of 490 meters above sea level. In Atalaya, we'll continue by raft for 30 minutes and then visit Cocha Machuwasi. There, we'll take a walk to observe a great diversity of birds, such as the hoatzin (Ophisthocomus hoazin), as well as monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, and insects. We may also be lucky enough to spot some capybaras (Hydrochaerus hydrochaeris), and we'll also be able to admire large trees such as the ceiba phentandra. After this fascinating experience, we'll leave the boat in Atalaya and continue by bus, passing through Pilcopata (550 meters above sea level), Patria, and Chontachaca, once again crossing the mysterious cloud forest on our way back to the Imperial City. During the bus ride, we'll have the chance to admire the views of the cloud forest once again.
We expect to arrive in the city of Cusco at approximately 10:00-11:00 PM, thus wrapping up our unforgettable trip through Manu.
