Descripción
Ride through the Andes to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate on a guided horseback tour from Cusco. Visit Mirador Ñiñaraparayoc, enjoy breakfast and lunch, and relax in the Pacchanta hot springs.
Your unforgettable journey to the Ausangate 7 Lakes begins with a 4:30 am hotel pick-up in Cusco. From the city, we drive toward the remote Andean community of Pacchanta, located at 4,100 m (13,451 ft) at the foot of the majestic Ausangate Mountain. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a warm and delicious buffet breakfast, prepared by the local families to give you the energy needed for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, your professional guide will help organize the horses and give a detailed explanation of the route and safety instructions for this incredible experience of Horseback Riding to the 7 Lagoons. The guide will also clarify the meeting points and timing for travelers who choose to walk instead of riding, ensuring that the whole group can enjoy the tour safely and at a comfortable pace.
Because this is a group tour, you will share the experience with travelers from different countries, making the journey social, fun, and enriching. The group will include both participants on horseback and those walking, so it is important to adapt to the pace of the walkers. Strategic meeting points will be established by the guide, especially at key locations like the first lagoon, to reunite the whole group before continuing the adventure.
We will explore the famous 7 Lagoons of Ausangate, each known for its unique color and beauty. These lakes include: Otorongo, Alqacocha, Q’omercocha, Orqo Otorongo, Azulcocha, Pucacocha, and Patacocha, all formed by the pristine glacier waters of Ausangate Mountain.
One of the highlights is reaching the impressive Ninaparayoc Viewpoint, a natural high balcony offering breathtaking views of all 7 Lagoons, the valleys below, and the towering Ausangate Mountain. It’s an ideal spot for photos, reflection, and marveling at the Andean landscape.
After ample time for exploration and photography, we ride or walk back to Pacchanta. Upon arrival, a delicious buffet lunch will be waiting, featuring traditional Andean dishes made with fresh local ingredients.
To conclude the day, you will have the opportunity to relax in the Pacchanta hot springs, naturally heated by the thermal activity of Ausangate. It’s the perfect way to soak your muscles, enjoy the serene environment, and reflect on your incredible journey to the Ausangate 7 Lakes.
Finally, we return to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm, where your tour officially ends.
Important Note: This tour is conducted as a mixed group, consisting of travelers who walk and travelers on horseback. All participants must adapt to the pace of the walking travelers, which means our guide will establish strategic meeting points throughout the activity.
