Very few stay long enough to witness what happens after dark — when the mangrove trees along the river come alive with thousands of synchronously blinking fireflies, turning the waterway into something that looks more like a dream than a nature tour.

This guided evening cruise takes you by small boat into the heart of that experience. As the last light fades from the sky, the fireflies begin to gather — first in scattered clusters, then in dense, glowing constellations across the mangrove canopy on both sides of the river.

The Journey Out

The River Cruise
Aboard a small, quiet boat, you glide slowly through the mangrove corridor in near-total darkness. The absence of city light makes the firefly display all the more striking. Your guide points out the best viewing spots and explains the synchronous blinking behavior — a natural phenomenon that scientists still find remarkable — while you take it all in from the water.

After the cruise, you return to Puerto Princesa City with your guide. This tour is best experienced with no flash photography — the darkness is what makes the fireflies visible, and your guide will show you how to observe without disturbing them.
