WESTMINSTER:
Discover the African presence in London from Roman times to the present day. Walk along some of the most famous streets in the capital. Commence your tour at the iconic 'Eros Statue' in Piccadilly Circus and conclude at Parliament Square.
See 50 places of interest such as the burial place of the cartoonist, John Arbothnot, the location where the Christy Minstrels entertained Londoners in Blackface, and the meeting place of famous abolitionists such as Joshua Wedgewood.
BRIXTON:
Meet your guide at the Brixton Tube Booking Hall for an immersive experience celebrating the rich history and culture of Brixton. Take a journey through time, showcasing the vibrant heritage of this iconic neighborhood.
CITY OF LONDON:
Take an educational walk through the 'Square Mile' in the City of London, identifying homes, offices, properties, land, and speaking about people and personalities that have had a connection with (then) British Guiana.
Beginning at the Mark Street Gardens (Luke and Mark Street) and ending at the Bank Tube Station, the trail will touch on the lives of 12 families/individuals that owned enslaved Africans. Hear about the compensation paid to most after manumission, which amounted to millions of pounds in today's money.
