Descripción

Discover Romania’s castles and mountain landscapes on a guided day trip from Brașov. Explore Bran Castle, Peleș Castle, and Cantacuzino Castle, and learn about the region’s history and legends.
Begin your journey in central Brașov and set off on a scenic drive through the Carpathian Mountains. Along the way, enjoy picturesque views of traditional villages, forested valleys, and dramatic mountain scenery.

Your first destination is Bran Castle, one of Romania’s most famous medieval landmarks. Built in 1382 and dramatically positioned on a rocky cliff between Măgura and Dealul Cetății, Bran Castle is renowned for its impressive Gothic architecture and its association with the Dracula legend. During the guided visit, explore the castle’s historic halls, narrow passageways, and hidden staircases while learning about its rich history, royal connections, and the myths that have made it world-famous.

The tour continues with a scenic drive to Sinaia, known as the “Pearl of the Carpathians” and once the preferred summer residence of the Romanian royal family. Here, visit the magnificent Peleș Castle, widely considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Built in Neo-Renaissance style, the castle is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, richly decorated interiors, ornate wood carvings, and impressive collection of art and weaponry. The guided interior tour offers insight into Romania’s royal heritage and the lifestyle of the former monarchy.

Next, continue to Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, an elegant Neo-Romanian landmark completed in 1911 by architect Grigore Cerchez for Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino. Surrounded by panoramic views of the Bucegi Mountains, the castle features refined interiors, historical charm, and an art gallery that complements its aristocratic atmosphere.

Throughout the journey, your guide will share fascinating stories about Romania’s history, royal families, medieval traditions, and local legends, offering a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural heritage.

On the return drive to Brașov, relax and admire the breathtaking scenery of the Bucegi Mountains while passing through the popular mountain resorts of Bușteni and Predeal.
