Where else must you drive through a park with 4 of the big 5, loads of other animals, awesome lanscapes, spend some time at one of the best beaches before having to do it all again to get back home?
Words cannot fully decscribe this amasing park! Isimangaliso Wetland Park, as the name translates from the local Zulu to "Place of Miracle or Wonder" must be experienced to be appreciated. Best is to plan a full fun day at the beach and know that on the way in you have the opportunity to marvel at the variety of antelope, birds and reptiles. Passing through endangered Sand Forest and Coastal Dune forests with some of the highest vegetated sand dunes in the world.
The interwoven mosaic of the 5 predominant ecosystems, marine creates gives the park such diversity, marine, coastal wetland and terrestrial ecosystems
Declared South Africas first UNESCO World Heritage Site for Nature in 1999. The the St Lucia Estuary that divides Isimangaliso Park into "Eastern Shores" on the seaward, or "Sunrise" side and "Western Shores" on the "Sunset" side of the estuary with the wetlands and marsh areas is also one of 4 RAMSAR sites in the parks boundries.
A "Bush & Beach" safari here is unique in that you have 2 safaris. Once on the way to the beach and then a second safari on you way out of the park. A very unique safari experience when in the Hluhluwe/St Lucia area.

Special Notice :
We have 2 "Beach Wheels" floating beach wheelchairs available for any one with mobility challenges that may not otherwise get across soft sand onto the beach or into the water. Disabled persons, who are able to get in and out of a normal car with assistance are welcome to travel alongside the guide in the front seat of the safari vehicle. Otherwise follow behind your group in your own vehicle or we can arrange transport for you to the beach. We want everyone to be able to enjoy iSimangaliso and Cape Vidal beach!
You can meet at the parking area at Bhangazi Gate - entrance to Eastern Shores & Cape Vidal. Our clearly branded Bushbaby Safaris open safari vehicle will be waiting. Alternatively let us know at which accommodation you are staying at in St Lucia itself and we'll meet you there and drop you there again at the end of the day.
