A hike through the young volcanic landscape of Tajogaite
Experience La Palma's most recent volcanic eruption from a very personal perspective. I'll take you into the restricted area of Tajogaite and not only tell you what happened here in 2021, but also how I experienced the eruption myself.

In the space of just a few weeks, Tajogaite changed the landscape of La Palma forever. During the eruption, I witnessed the volcano's evolution up close and saw how the landscape and the lives of the people around the volcano changed.
On this hike, I don't just want to show you this extraordinary place from a geological perspective. I will also tell you about my own experiences during the eruption and about personal stories that I have heard from people around me.
Together, we will hike through the restricted area of Tajogaite and across the landscape created by the eruption. You will see the traces of the eruption up close and get an impression of how young and dynamic this volcanic landscape really is.
Another advantage of this route: We hike mainly downhill. Unlike many classic Tajogaite circular routes, this tour goes from A to B and is therefore slightly less strenuous.
More than just a volcano
This hike is not just about seeing the volcano and taking a photo. You will be right in the middle of the landscape created by the eruption and will learn what actually happened here in 2021 – from the perspective of someone who was there in person.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE
You could wear gaiters to prevent sand/ash from getting into your shoes, which could make walking a bit uncomfortable.
If you experience knee pain when going downhill, I recommend using hiking poles.
We will meet at the soccer field in Las Manchas. We will park here and then be taken by taxi or minibus to the starting point of the hike.
The hike is a point-to-point hike (from A to B). It ends at the Las Manchas soccer field, where our cars are parked.

Si lo cancela después de 24 horas o no se presenta en la excursión, se le cobrará el precio total de la actividad. El retraso en la recogida o en la salida se considerará como no presentarse.
