Experience Minneriya National Park in a unique way with this combined elephant and birdwatching safari. The park is famous for the world-renowned “Gathering,” where herds of wild Asian elephants come to the Minneriya tank to feed and drink. Alongside elephants, the park is also home to more than 150 bird species, including storks, pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, and the rare grey-headed fish eagle.
Your adventure begins in a comfortable 4x4 jeep with an experienced driver-guide who knows the best routes for wildlife spotting. Binoculars are provided so you can enjoy closer views of both elephants and birds in their natural habitats. To enhance your experience, you’ll also receive a specially prepared written birdwatching guidebook, which helps you identify the most common species you encounter during the safari.
As you drive through grasslands, wetlands, and forest paths, you may also spot deer, monkeys, and reptiles that share this rich ecosystem. At the Minneriya reservoir, take time to relax and watch the magical sight of elephants arriving at the water’s edge while flocks of waterbirds soar overhead.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE
- Safari duration is approximately 4 hours
- Wildlife sightings (elephants, birds, and other animals) are not guaranteed, as they are in their natural habitat
- Binoculars will be provided for use during the safari
- A written birdwatching guide is included for you to keep
- Please wear comfortable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen
- Bring insect repellent, especially for afternoon safaris
Hotel pickup and drop-off can be arranged on request (extra charge if the hotel is not in the selected area, especially for hotels situated around Dambulla and Kandalama).
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Safari is not wheelchair accessible
- The best time to see elephants is afternoon (12:30 PM – 5:00 PM)
We pick up Travelers from all hotels around Dambulla, Sigiriya, Habarana and Polonnaruwa. If the hotel is not in the selected area, we will charge an extra fee for pick-up.
Attention: We will charge an extra 3000LKR for pick up from Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, and Kandalama.

Para garantizar la disponibilidad de la reserva lo antes posible. Vale la pena reservar con antelación, especialmente si planeas el viaje durante la temporada alta, como los días festivos o los fines de semana.
Cancelaciones
Esta excursión se puede cancelar sin costo alguno hasta :tiempo de cancelación horas antes del inicio del viaje. Si lo cancela después de 24 horas o no se presenta en la excursión, se le cobrará el precio total de la actividad. El retraso en la recogida o en la salida se considerará como no presentarse.
