At 8.00 am start with your personalized pick up by the driver from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.

Then, at 09.00 am you will be welcomed with a refreshing coffee/tea by the guide for the briefing.

At 09.30 am, set off on a scenic drive to the Franone Mine entrance, with a stop at a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking Block D. Here, enjoy a short yet engaging briefing that unveils the story of tanzanite and prepares you for the extraordinary experience ahead.

At 10.00 am, step into the world of miners as you prepare in our exclusive changing facility. Suit up with professional overalls, safety helmets fitted with headlamps, and secure lockers for your personal belongings—everything you need for a safe and immersive Tanzanite Experience.


Step Into the Heart of the Mine

At 10.30 am, descend into the heart of the mine on an exhilarating, expertly guided journey, reaching depths of up to 1,200 meters. Along the way, discover the intricate art of tanzanite mining, observe striking geological formations, and experience a rare, up-close encounter with a remarkable boudin formation.

Prepare to be captivated by the hidden beauty beneath the earth’s surface. Venture deeper into the mining world as you examine specialized machinery and engage with miners at work. If timing allows, you may even witness preparations for the explosive process, adding an unforgettable memory to your experience.


Your Underground Journey Comes to a Close

At 5.00 pm, the tour will end with a Questions and Answers session. Refresh yourself with a shower. Then the driver will wait for you to drop you off back at your hotel with a camera full of unforgettable memories of this extraordinary adventure.
