Arusha: 5-Day Great Migration Calving season Safari

Embark on a 5-day safari from Arusha to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, spot tree-climbing lions, and explore the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Start your adventure with breakfast at your hotel before being picked up by your guide at 8:00 AM. Head to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day safari. Keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions and the park’s vibrant birdlife, including pink flamingos. Enjoy a packed lunch at the Msasa picnic site. Later, exit the park and head to Marera View Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: South Serengeti – Ndutu Plains

After breakfast at the lodge, depart at 8:30 AM with packed lunches to South Serengeti for a migration safari in the Ndutu Plains. Witness the Great Wildebeest Migration during the calving season. See hundreds of wildebeests and zebras giving birth to newly born calves, while scavengers like hyenas and jackals follow the herds. Spot big cats such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards feasting on these animals. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Ndutu Heritage Tented Camp.

Day 3: Full Day in Ndutu Plains

After an early breakfast, depart at sunrise from the camp with packed lunches for a whole day safari in the Ndutu Plains. Experience the thrill of seeing a live kill and scavenging vultures feeding on the remains. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Half Day Ndutu to Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, depart from the camp at 6:30 AM for a morning safari in the Ndutu Plains. Return to the camp for a hot lunch and by 2:00 PM, start your journey from South Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Arrive at Hhando Lodge by 5:00 PM for dinner and an overnight stay. The lodge is situated 2,500 meters above sea level.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Arusha

After an early breakfast, depart from the lodge at 6:30 AM with packed lunches for a morning safari inside the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is home to endangered black rhinos, pink flamingos inside Lake Magadi, and huge prides of lions. Have lunch at the famous Ngoitoktok Hippo Pool. By 1:00 PM, exit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and drive back to Arusha for a drop-off in town or at your hotel by 5:00 PM.
