Begin your adventure with a relaxing boat ride from Zanzibar’s coast toward Prison Island (Changuu Island). As you approach the island, enjoy views of the turquoise sea and the historic buildings that once served as a quarantine station in the 19th century.
On the island, meet the incredible Aldabra giant tortoises, some over 150 years old. Walk freely around the sanctuary, feed the tortoises, and learn about their history and conservation. Your guide will also take you through the old prison ruins, sharing stories about the island’s past.
Next, board your boat again and cruise to the breathtaking Nakupenda Sandbank a long stretch of pure white sand surrounded by sparkling blue waters. Spend your time swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, or simply relaxing under the African sun.
While you enjoy the island paradise, your crew will prepare a fresh seafood lunch, including grilled fish, rice, vegetables, and a colorful selection of local fruits. After lunch, continue to enjoy the sandbank before heading back to Zanzibar with unforgettable memories.
