Next, visit Baan Silapin, a charming riverside community where time seems to slow down. This historic neighborhood is made up of traditional wooden houses, small local shops, and family-run galleries connected by a wooden walkway that follows the edge of the canal. It offers a rare glimpse into what everyday life in Bangkok used to be like, long before the city’s skyline was dominated by concrete and glass.

As you cruise through the canals of Thonburi, pass by Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, a historic temple founded during the mid-Ayutthaya period. Next, visit the Giant Swing, a religious structure formerly used in an old Brahmin ceremony.

Continue to Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan and see Loha Prasat, also known as the “metal castle.” Built in 1846 under the patronage of King Rama III and inspired by two other similar temples in India and Sri Lanka, Loha Prasat is one of the most outstanding pieces of architecture in Bangkok.

Next, head to Chinatown, one of the largest Chinatowns in the world and one of the most authentic and unchanged neighborhoods in the city. Finally, visit Pak Khlong Talat, Thailand’s largest wholesale flower market.
