Gyeongju : Two Signature Routes into a Thousand Years of Silla
Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom for nearly a thousand years, offers a unique journey through nature, faith and history.
The first route, "From Ocean to Heaven." begins at the dramatic Yangnam Columnar Joints along the East Sea and continues to the Underwater Tombs of King Munmu, symbolizing Silla's belief in nature as a sacred protector. The journey ascends Mt. Toham to Bulguksa Temple and the Sokgulam Grotto, where Buddhist philosophy and natural scenery unite in UNESCO-listed masterpieces.
The econd route explores Gyeongju as a Museum Without Walls, featuring Cheomseongdae, the royal tombs of Daereungwon, Woljeonggyo Bridge and Gyochon Traditional Villages with Donggung Palace and Wolji pond as an optional highlight. Together these routes reveal Gyeongjy as a living capital where a thousand years of Silla culture still endure.
