Day 1: Cairns to Port Douglas
Begin your journey with a transfer from Cairns and a warm welcome from a Traditional Owner. Experience a traditional smoking ceremony before embarking on an afternoon sunset cruise to get to know your fellow travelers. Night 1 is in Hotel in Port Douglas
Day 2: Port Douglas to Yindilli on Buru Country
Start your day with breakfast on Cooya Beach before learning about the saltwater customs of the Kuku Yalanji people. Visit Mossman Gorge, Whyanbeel stone tool making ground, and Rocky Point to see remnants of fish traps.
Enjoy lunch in Daintree Village before crossing the Daintree River. In the afternoon, explore the Lower Daintree, head north of Cape Tribulation to Wujal Wujal, and make your way up the Creb Track to Yindilli Glamping Retreat and Campground.
Day 3: Yindilli
Spend the day at Yindilli on Burunku Aboriginal Land and join CJ on a rainforest and stories walk. Visit Roaring Meg Falls and other culturally significant sites. Stay in glamping tents and participate in artifact making or weaving practices. Enjoy free time to relax or swim in the local creek and make traditional damper.
Day 4: Yindilli to Cooktown
Depart Yindilli in the afternoon and head north to Cooktown. See culturally significant sites along the way, including the Black Mountain lookout. Enjoy a BBQ dinner on the waterfront in Cooktown.
Day 5: Cooktown to Port Douglas
Spend the morning in Cooktown learning about the history of colonisation. Travel back through Western Kuku Yalanji Country, passing through Lakeland and returning to Port Douglas by approximately 5:00 PM.
