Begin your unforgettable adventure at 2:00 PM in Barreirinhas, boarding a rugged Toyota 4x4 that will take you on an exciting 50-minute journey through sandy trails toward the base of a magnificent dune. This drive offers a chance to immerse yourself in the unique landscapes and native vegetation of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
Upon arrival, the vehicle remains at the foot of the dune while the real exploration begins on foot. A wooden staircase guides you upward to the top of the dune, providing access to one of the most stunning natural parks in Brazil. From this vantage point, you’ll behold an endless expanse of white sand dunes dotted with shimmering freshwater lagoons—a surreal and breathtaking panorama.
Your tour includes visits to several of the park’s most famous lagoons. Start with the renowned Lagoa Bonita, celebrated for its crystal-clear waters and captivating scenery surrounded by rolling dunes. Then, proceed to Lagoa do Clone, a lagoon known for its cinematic beauty, having served as the backdrop for various film and television productions. Next is Lagoa do Massarico, a quieter and more rustic lagoon offering peaceful waters and natural surroundings. Finally, explore Lagoa do Descanso, aptly named the “Resting Lagoon,” where calm waters invite you to relax and soak in the tranquility of the area.
Throughout the excursion, you will have ample opportunity to swim, take photos, and absorb the serene atmosphere of this unique ecosystem. The shifting colors of the dunes and lagoons under changing light create an ever-evolving canvas that enchants visitors.
